Aside from the traditional monuments that you can visit in Valencia, there are some other places and events that you can visit to make your stay extra special! Below are some suggested activities, places and events that you can go to in October!
SACAÑÉ CAVES!!
For the more adventurous of you, there are two easily accessible caves in Gátova! These caves are not dangerous and a great tourist attraction! In fact, one of the small magical caves was historically used to store cattle.
The cave of Sacañé is located in Sacañé de Arriba, an area which is easily accessible from the mill of La Caeja, a small walk further from the Pico del Gorgo. With a large entrance and stairs going to the cave, it shouldn’t be too hard to miss!
The cave can be found with the coordinates 39°45"19.2″N 0°30"44.6″W or in decimal places 39.755343, -0.512388.
NEW LIGHT DISPLAY!
There will be a new light display and live DJ session at the Plaza del Agora on Friday 21st October at 19:30.
Despite the event being postponed from 11th October, it is finally being put on next Friday.
The new light display generates live architecture through algorithms, thanks to the World Design Capital Valencia 2022. You will be able to visit this show every day from 20:00 to 21:00.
After it is played here, the display will move on from Plaza del Agora. It will then be established in the Valencia marina, which you will be able to see for free every day between 20:00 and 21:00 as well.
Ágora Valencia is 24 x 10 metres and a height of 10 meters and made with wooden and ceramic rod. The roof, built by the artist Manolo García, symbolises the waves of the Mediterranean Sea and at night it lights up like a lighthouse. It is a new and exciting attraction to Valencia, and free as well! What more could you want?
ROCK CLIMBING GAIA CLIMB ALZIRA
On 4th October, a new rock climbing centre opened in Alzira. It is now the highest rock climbing wall in the Valencia community!
The opening of the centre was attended by the Mayor of Alzira, Diego Gomez and more than 500 climbing fans!
The centre has been well received due to the great message that GAIA is promoting. The GAIA Climb initiative aims to advertise sport in Valencia, encourage more women in climbing and as a meeting point to host climbing events and competitions.
The new climbing wall has an area of 825 m2 dedicated to climbing, with walls of 16 - 20 metres high! These are great facilities to practice the Olympic sport.
The newly created warehouse is more than just a climbing centre. Built by Blauverd and with interior design by ESPAZIO, the centre has changing rooms, a small cafeteria, a chill out area and a garden to relax after climbing.
Their first event was a competition in which a total of 100 climbers participated. This sounds like a great opportunity for climbing fans to visit!
