The breathtaking town Peñiscola officially has been chosen and named as one of The Most Beautiful Towns in Spain. What you can´t know from the distant views of Peñiscola is what lies inside those castle and city walls. Rising 64 metres above the azure blue sea, the castle and city walls envelope gorgeous windy cobbled stone streets, which are throbbing with the memories of centuries gone by, but at the same time are home to lots of little shops. It seems to balance the old with the new. 🏖🤩 

 

Without a doubt, the most striking feature of Peñiscola is its castle, which was once the seat of Pope Benedict XIII, better known as Pope Luna. Peñíscola was one of the three only papal seats in history at Papa Luna's time. There are three papal cities that ever existed: Rome, Aviñon (France) and Peñiscola.    

So impressive is the town that Peñiscola has been chosen as a filming location for various films, including El Cid. And, of course, the television series Game of Thrones was similarly unable to resist the town´s charm, shooting several scenes from one of the episodes on location in Peñiscola. Being a film location is nothing new for Peñiscola, as it has been running its own Film Festival since 2008.  

Before Peñiscula we will visit Port Saplaya, "the little Venice of Valencia"  and will go to explore one of Valencia´s most spectacular natural environments, Coves de Sant Josep. We will enjoy a boat trip on Europe´s longest navigable underground river. We will enter into the depths of the earth on a small boat, and view the natural formations. Cancellation: management fees: € (no reimbursable). The cancellation must be notified by: email to info@soyerasmus.com  Penalties: a) 50% of the trip amount, if the customer cancels between 1 month and 15 days before the date of travel.b) 75% of the trip amount, if you cancel between 14 days and 10th. c) 100% of the total amount, if you cancel from the 9th day before the trip.
