The Island of Nueva Tabarca 🗺🏖

It is the only inhabited island in the Valencian Community, but it was uninhabited - although Berber pirates sometimes took it as a base - until Carlos III repopulated it in the 18th century with Genoese citizens rescued from their captivity on the island Tunisian from Tabarka, where the name comes from. Its fascinating history and incredible natural heritage make it a must for visitors of all kinds.

Tabarca is one island yet many at the same time. It is both bustling and quiet, with beaches and coves in which to lose yourself. It is just a stone’s throw from Alicante, yet comfortably cut off from the outside world.

18:30pm: meeting point to take the boat back

18:45-19:10 boat to the port of Santa Pola

19:20pm: bus from Santa Pola- to  Valencia
